Simon Ingram is a journalist and photographer.

He has written dozens of features for award-winning national magazines and websites, principally in the fields of adventure journalism, walking mountaineering and film critique. 

Areas of special interest include the above as well
as science, music and reportage.

Publications he has written for include Empire, Trail and Country Walking and The Guardian, and he was one of the launch contributors for Outdoor Fitness Magazine.  

His photographs have been featured in several major national publications and have appeared as the cover of Trail and Stamford Living magazines. His photography portfolio also includes wedding photography, PR and product photography for a range of private and corporate clients.

He has also produced short films on various themes both for work and play - from extreme BMW driving on a German racetrack to climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, via how to wash a waterproof jacket. He shot and scored a film for the Outdoor Elements Theatre at the Ordnance Survey Outdoor Show 2009, and has prepared show-reel presentations for the Kendal Mountain Film Festival and viral marketing videos for www.livefortheoutdoors.com and Kidney Research UK.  

In six years as a journalist he has been shortlisted for six awards (including Emap Consumer Media Writer of the Year and Bauer Consumer Media Writer of the Year) and Highly Commended for two, including the national PPA/PTC New Journalist of the Year 2006.

He is a Mountain Leader trainee and has mountaineering experience all over the UK, and also the High Atlas of Morocco, Arctic Norway, the French, German and Italian Alps, Slovenia, the Balkans and East Africa. 

He is currently the Editor of Trail Magazine (The UK's Best Selling Hill-Walking Magazine and PPA Magazine of the Year 2005) and   www.livefortheoutdoors.com

He lives in Stamford, Lincolnshire.
